success

The primary cause of success in life is the ability to set and achieve goals. That’s why the
people who do not have goals are doomed forever to work for those who do. You either work
to achieve your own goals or you work to achieve someone else’s goals." - Brian Tracy

To understand how to realise our goals, we need to know that there are three main types of goals. Winning an Olympic gold medal is an achievement goal. It relies on many factors outside of your control. You may run a great time, but there may be someone else present who runs faster than you. Achievement goals are what inspire us. They are part of the grand vision.

Then there are performance goals. For a sprinter, this could be running a 100-metre race in under 10 seconds. These kinds of goals are more independent of external conditions. They are also an important measure of our progress.

Finally, there are action goals. These are almost entirely within our control. They are simply the physical actions you take to achieve your performance or achievement goals. For an Olympic athlete, this may include training for six hours a day, reading a book on sport psychology and eating a certain diet.

The most important kinds of goals are action goals because if you take care of the action, the performance and achievement will come naturally. The more you do, the more you will achieve. Make sure that every day, you are doing something that gets you closer to the achievement of your great big hair-raising goal.

MERRY CHRISTMASS & 2007 BE GREATER & THE BEST

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental

To reach out for another is to risk involvement

To expose feelings it to risk exposing your true self

To place your ideas, our dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss

To love is to risk not being loved in return

To live is to risk dying

To hope is to risk despair

To try is to risk failure

But risk must be taken

Because the greatest hazard is to risk nothing

The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing

They may avoid suffering and sorrow

But they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love or live

Chained by their attitudes, they are slaves,

They have forfeited their freedom

Only a person who risks if free

Hey guys as you make your resolutions for 2007. Be gratefull for all the good and bad that 2006 had for you it made for a wonderful year and God causes all things to work together for GOOD. And remember the man(woman) who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing. More RISKS to be taken in 2007 and you will have a bigger, greater more fulfilling life. God bless you more than you can imagine and make your life in 2007 the BEST it could ever be.

hello
Related to country: Zimbabwe

I guess I should first introduce myself. i'll post a photo of myself soon. I'm 25 single and Zimbabwean but currently in South Africa. My story may sound like the usual from developing countries or everywhere in the world. Poverty stifling our dreams. I'm very talented. A singer, poem and song writer, leader also apt to studying. I'm a very passionate person and desire to see the African people rise above their current limitations and making use of the great natural resources their continent is so well endowed with. That being my passion I have worked for three years in a development agency. I was increasingly frustrated by the little funds that we recieved for sustainable development, emergencies recieving the greater attention and finance. Well guys thats just one aspect of me, Am also very humourous and fun loving. Oh and I should have said season's greetings. You all have a merry christmass and 2007 bring good tidingd to one and all. I would like to hear opinions on the developed world's commitment to reall sustainable development in the developing world
